My graphic and my textile work had
always equal ranking for me.
Important was only the quality of the work.
With similar concentration I develop my drawings and my quilts.
The inner tension, that helps me not
to loose spontaneity while doing larger and timeconsuming works is for both
comparable, for drawing and for quilting. Only after making quilts for some time
I discovered my most favorite size: the square. And doesn´t a quilt offer an
additional design element when compared to a painting?
In my work quilting is never understood as only a means to an end. I use it deliberately as an additional graphic design element. The quilt is only then a success for me, when top design and quilts are a unity.
